Ismail Haniyeh [e] (Arabic: إسماعيل هنية, romanized: Ismāʿīl Haniyyah, [5] [3] [6] pronunciation ⓘ; [f] 29 January 1962 [c] – 31 July 2024) was a Palestinian politician who served as chairman of the Hamas Political Bureau from May 2017 until his assassination in July 2024.
