May 10, 2015 · Funny, a few weeks ago I bought the same Ruthenium plugs, to replace the Iridium plugs in our '09 Mazda (with the same 2.3 l engine). Per NGK, G-Power Platinum plugs are good for 60K km, Iridium IX 100K km, and Iridium Laser 120K km.

Nov 20, 2006 · Laser has iridium center electrode with small platinum disc welded to the ground electrode. A Mazda TSB from 2012 indicates that this type of plug is required for Skyactiv engines even though NGK's site offers more that one type for those engines.
Denso Iridium TT vs long life, which one is better?
Apr 27, 2010 · The TT series is the aftermarket adaption of the Super-Ignition Plug Denso created for the Toyota D4-S engines, minus the side electrodes. I’ve used the Platinum TTs in a Subaru, haven’t tried the Iridium TT. Denso seems to push them more than Iridium Power. iridium TTs have platinum on the ground electrode, like the OE plugs.
Go with Denso Iridium TT trend or Long Life OE spark plugs?
Oct 8, 2012 · The manual calls for Denso Iridium Long Life plugs to be changed at 160k km. Cars at 320k so second swap and I noticed Denso has new TT plugs with smaller 0.4mm center electrode as opposed to 0.7mm in long life. Previously 0.4mm center electrode is for the "performance" plugs and generally doesn't last as long.

Aug 14, 2015 · Well let's check. I see gaps at 0.040 to 0.044 inches for Iridiums. What other gaps are your owners manuals recommending for Iridium plugs? Not Platinums and certainly not Coppers. '08 G35 with the VQ35HR engine and the FSM calls for Iridium plugs gapped at 0.043". The plug Nissan/Infiniti specs is FXE22HR11 and DENSO pre-gaps these at 0.044".

Aug 5, 2002 · From what I remember the older 0.4mm iridium plugs last about 15-30k miles, but the newer 0.4mm Denso Iridium TT claims 100k miles life vs the 80-100k miles life the 0.7mm Long Life Iridium. They are also cheaper too.

Nov 30, 2005 · I would only go with the factory iridium spark plugs or the ones specifically listed in the manual... unless something has changed or GM made a mistake (unlikely). Looks like you need AC Delco 41-985 According the spark plug manufacturers, standard copper plugs can go about 30K, platinum plugs go 60-100K, and iridium about 120K.

Jun 17, 2013 · iridium plugs helped the OEM's achieve 100+k mile plug changes. Copper will not give a stronger spark, platinum and iridium plugs contain a copper core anyway. Platinum plugs were the first noble metal plugs with a recommended 100K service interval decades before iridium plugs were marketed.
