I remember Mhuss as being an active member of Plexi Palace Forum (as mentionned earlier), and learned a lot from him when I discovered Hiwatt and purchased mine more than 15 years ago). If you live in Europe, a vintage Hiwatt DR103 can still be found around 2500€.

Jan 4, 2024 · I use a Torpedo CAB M+ at night when everyone in the house is asleep and my favorite speaker can IR for a while now is George Lynch’s 1972 SE4123 4x12 HIWATT cabinet. The exact same cabinet I just bought. Pretty amazing.

Aug 26, 2015 · As a Hiwatt owner and player, I'd have to say that they are the odd men out in that list. Very different from the Marshall style amps you're otherwise looking at. Just get a JMP style amp with a master volume and you're good!

Feb 13, 2023 · The Hiwatt DR504 Custom 50 has a clarity that reminds of Black Face Fenders, while having way more grunt when clean or overdriven. The Orange OR120 has a very unique bass response it is huge, growly and slightly compressed at the same time. When driven hard the bass amount increases a lot and you get easily into sludge territory.
