May 5, 2015 · I need to replace the tie rod ends on my TO35, that are located by the steering gearbox. Question: how do I get the tie rod ends loose from the steering arms. I have seen (Ed on wheeler dealer, just tap the arm a few times and the tie rod end comes loose, but that is tv).

I paid approx $30 each for them, complete with rubber boot and grease fitting. (Case wanted $60 each for them)NAPA's catalog has several pages of tables of tie rod ends.

There are two or three tie rod wrenches on the market for many years.They come in (two in one designs)for small and larger rods and when hooked up to the slot tend to open the rod to loosen it while turning.(LYLE) makes a laminated one that is provided by many suppliers.

Aug 10, 2015 · I would start with the adjustment screws on either side of the box first. Loosen the large nut and evenly tighten the screw to remove play in the steering. You should also check out your tie rod ends which also get loose. I went through this on one of my TO30's last year, the play was all in the steering box and just needed adjustment.
