Mar 11, 2016 · I bought "decent" auto dark welding helmets everywhere but harbor freight for years and mine were lasting a year or two before they quit working. Last one crapped and I had a coupon so I dove in. Bought a hf one for like $30 out the door. That was maybe 5 years ago.

Oct 14, 2004 · I especially like the border view window (2.25x4.0). It sure makes mig welding start and follow through a whole lot easier and from one weld section to another weld section without having to flip the lid or lens to see where to go to next. I'll never go back to traditional helmet unless an emergency prevails.

Nov 26, 2005 · what kind of hood (meaning what brand)? The cheapo harbor freight ones are real sensitive to what angle the weld is hitting it at. I've always had problems with the HF auto hoods when trying to do out of position or overhead welds. I refuse to use them now. I personally prefer a good old fashing jackson big window hood.

Apr 29, 2018 · My 8yr granddaughter welds. I just bought here a lower priced Miller helmet. It adjusts down to fit her just fine. One issue I have found is my welding table is too tall for her even when the stool is a full height. She overcomes but it is still a little more difficult for her.
