Are gears of war 4 & 5 good?? : r/GearsOfWar - Reddit
Gears of War 4's prologue is the best thing about the campaign in my opinion. But the gameplay loop is similar to judgment, with it's horde style waves. Gears 5 is far more engaging with it's semi-open world exploration, and first time ever side quests.

Nov 18, 2022 · Gears 4 all the way, because JD is Marcus son. Which at the time was super cool to hop in his boots and carry on the family legacy. Kait is my favorite side character in 4 but she shouldn't have been the main in 5. It was sad to see JD downgraded to unlikable side character and the option to kill him is a slap in the face.

Gears 4 and 5 suck? : r/GearsOfWar - Reddit
Negatives: Gears 4 did not have as much support as Gears 5 had and 1% of the story leave me puzzled, I'm pretty sure they put out a comic to explain that but external media shouldn't be necessary to understand a game and there is one aspect of the campaign that I think they shot themselves in the foot by doing which I can't say without spoiling ...
