Gavel clubs are a way of providing the Toastmasters experience to groups who may be ineligible for regular membership due to age, or other circumstances. Following similar Toastmasters club meeting protocols, Gavel clubs use club officer titles and education manuals.

Gavel Clubs are open to any group of individuals who cannot otherwise qualify to become a Toastmasters club due to age restriction (18+ years old) or other circumstances which would prohibit full participation in Toastmasters activities (for example, incarceration).

Programs and Gavel Clubs, participants learn to: Overcome nervousness when speaking before an audience. Organize and present ideas logically and convincingly. Listen carefully to others’ ideas. Participate in and lead group discussion or meetings. Offer advice to help others improve their speaking and leadership skills.

Dec 8, 2019 · Gavel Clubs are typically established in high schools (where participants are too young to join Toastmasters) and prisons (where participants are not able to attend outside meetings). They operate like other Toastmasters clubs, with manual speeches, evaluators, table topics, officers…the works!
