Nov 19, 2020 · Have a wireing nightmare that might even rival a telecom wireman's splice box. Have an old (about 1970's) GE Remote Control Panel that has 30 RR7 relays, no wire labeling, line voltage side pretty straight forward has it's own issues but not my question.

Aug 1, 2016 · By 1965 Sq-D was gone from the market as I recall. GE had a model that plugged on to a pair of bus bars. I chose this GE model for my home which just starting construction in Nov 1965. I have about 50 relays in the house, and about 50 breakers. All of the relay switched circuits are #14 copper, and one 15 A QO breaker supplies 3 RR relays.

Jul 5, 2020 · Mine has a relay at each controlled fixture. GE RR3 (GE RR7 for replacement) in mine. Relay in your fixture box willpull out trialing 3 18 AWG wires, that way you can replace there relay. The 4.5V , as Dave said, should be 24Vac. Check the transformer, it may be bad. Have had 1 transformers go bad in the 48 years I've lived in the house.

Jun 13, 2023 · Hi. I'm working on an old low voltage lighting control system. It has about 45 or so Leviton 24v GE RR7 relays mixed with P&S 1070B relays. But adjacent to the panel housing the relays are 2 enclosures, each with a round multi pole (probably 50) relay. I'll try to attach the picture. The enclosures are marked Master relay 1 and master relay 2.

I have a customer with many of the lights and the switches in his house use the RR7 relays and funny looking switches for the lights. My question is how should these relays be installed to be code compliant?

Jun 25, 2024 · The switches are GE RFS6. Relays are RR-4 (or similar, that one is designed to power pilot light). I brought customer's backup inventory with me, thought I could breadboard at shop using any 24v transformer. But looking up online, see that GE has a rectifier after transformer. I know I'm not giving enough information for anyone to troubleshoot.

Mar 23, 2023 · The GE system was based on 24 VAC and could do 277V lighting while the touchplate was more of a residential system for 120V lighting with on 30 VDC control, although some of the 1960's era touchplate were lower voltages. In a pinch you can emulate a latching relay with two ice cube relays and two diodes but don't ask me for the circuit diagram.
