Aug 4, 2007 · There IS a project that has been in the works for many years, where a guy named AgentOrangeGuy has been using the Exult engine and fully re-creating Ultima VI in the Ultima VII engine, via Exult. I would just wait for that. But it is still in development and who knows when it will be finished sadly. But the progress he has shown looks fantastic.

Jan 28, 2011 · That's the only other one I know of. Of note, Ultima's IV - V - VI - VII BG/SI - VIII all work fine in DOSBox. These custom engines however add much more user friendly interface/shortcuts that are not in the originals. And in Exult's case, it fixes all the game breaking/crashing bugs that are still present in Ultima VII BG/SI.

Jul 2, 2009 · By default Exult runs at 320x200 (which is the resolution the original Ultima VII used). Exult can use different scaling engines to double the size to 640x400 and increase the quality of the graphics. Using higher resolutions is considered cheating as you can see too much of the surrounding area.

May 20, 2007 · I love that you can change some of the gameplay settings and screen resolution using Exult to play Ultima VII. Im curious though as on the Exult page it says the game was meant to be played using original resolution of 320x200 and that upping the resolution is considered cheating as it shows more of the screen then it normally would.
