Evelyn Cameron (August 26, 1868 – December 26, 1928) was a photographer and diarist of the American West, who documented her life as a pioneer near Terry, Montana from the late 1890s onward.

Nov 14, 2020 · Evelyn Cameron, the symbol of female pioneers in Eastern Montana, died at age sixty in 1928, after a routine appendectomy. While her heart failure following the procedure was unexpected, the way Cameron got to the doctor was in true pioneer fashion: riding her horse for 30 miles by herself.

Evelyn and her husband Ewen Cameron immigrated to the Terry, Montana area from the United Kingdom in 1893.
