Dec 11, 2023 · So I'm on an Honour mode playthrough and this is my 4th playthrough. Honestly Gale gets really whiny about Mystra asking him to kill himself, no matter how many times you tell him you're not gonna let that happen. So I'm kinda curious, if I just kill Elminster before he gives Gale his thing am I gonna have to keep giving Gale items?

Dec 11, 2015 · He's Elminster. Starting (and progressing for a while, 2-4 levels even?) as bard is perfectly fine, imo. You should be able to take Chosen of Mystra and its bonuses (if they gave actual presitge-style class progression for it, or a template, and didn't just say 'this is what he does') and at least get them pretty close to a translation from 3e ...

In acts 1-2 and Act 3, you meet with the legendary Elminster Aumar. Now, I'm not too familiar with the lore of Forgotten Realms, but I so know he's kind of a big deal. Now, what has me puzzled is that when you examine him, it says that he's a construct and if you kill him, he just turns into a puddle of water. Also, iirc, he's only level one.

Khelben Arunsun is dead, and his soul is in the new Blackstaff wielded by Vajra Safahr (18th-level wizard). Elminster still hasn’t got stats, but I would consider Acererak and Vlaakith as good guidelines.

Oct 26, 2013 · Elminster, as of the ELH, is a 35th level character; Fighter 1st/Rogue 2nd/Cleric 3rd/Wizard 24th/Archmage 5th. However, Elminster's own stats are incorrect in the EPH. The first is that in Making of a Mage, as a Cleric, Elminster was able to cast Lesser Ironguard (this basically allows metal to pass harmlessly through you).

He dropped like 1000xp per party member but didn't drop any loot. The box said Elminster was struck by lethal damage but he teleported away or something. Last log entry was Elminster winning a constitution save throw after the entry that he was struck by lethal damage (despite me having the knock out passive enabled).
