Sep 29, 2010 · Elk Fork primarily contains largemouth bass, and they are stacked in the lake from one end to the other. Biologist Scott Morrison said, "Elk Fork Lake has more bass per acre than any other West Virginia small impoundment." Anglers will find a few spotted bass in the lake, but it's the largemouths in Elk Fork that really drive this fishery.

Elk Fork Lake, situated in Ripley, WV, is a serene body of water surrounded by lush greenery and rolling hills. Spanning over 200 acres, this man-made lake offers a peaceful retreat for fishing, boating, and picnicking.

FISHING & HUNTING – Ten fishing lakes are situated with 20 miles of Ripley: Elk Fork Lake, Frozen Camp Lake, O’Brien Lake and Wiblin Fork Lake are part of the Mill Creek Watershed System. Rollins Lake is located near the community of Evans. Woodrum Lake is in southern Jackson County, near Kentuck.
