The open beak, tongue out is either a sign of overheating or respiratory disease. When ducks can't stand and they sit on their feet they can overheat because they use the unfeathered skin to dissipate excess heat.

Jun 23, 2016 · His bill is missing both sides of the top from the nostrils down. He eats and drinks fine. The issue right now is that his tongue sticks out, and the end is dry and rigid. How can we moisten the tongue so we can hopefully help him get it back in his mouth? There is a photo below.

The other duck seems to be doing fine, eating and drinking. But when I was holding him earlier, I noticed that as he was dozing off, he would suddenly pop his head up, open his mouth, and start sticking his tongue out.

Customer: one of my ducks appears to have a swollen tongue and throat. She didnt come out of the house this morning and is standing with her beak open and dripping saliva. One side of her face is swollen and there is now a discharge from her eye. I have given her 2ml of baytril and 1ml of Flayl S but no improvemnet.

Aug 30, 2022 · My duck's wings do this every few days and she shakes her head and opens her mouth as if she wants to vomit and nothing comes out. Her tongue even sticks out for a while when she's doing this vomiting motion.
