Jergal js the former god of death who now acts as the scribe of the dead, recording the final disposition of souls. Myrkul is the god of dead souls and kinda necromancy. Lastly, while not strictly a deity of death, Bhaal is the god of murder.

Myrkul was a god for 3000 or so years, Cyric only had the Domain of Death for 100 years (and wasn't really seen as the God of Death), and Kelevor has only been a god for a century (and is seen as the God of Death).

I believe Cryic and Myrkur wanted to profane death and use it just for power so did Kelemvor somehow usurp that role and just make it a more "natural" part of the order of the universe?
