Delenn is a fictional lead character in the universe of the science fiction television series Babylon 5. She is originally Minbari, but from season 2 onwards, becomes a Minbari/human hybrid. She was played by Mira Furlan.

Delenn presents herself to the Babylon 5 Advisory Council, and to the new station commander, Captain John Sheridan. She explains to him that her transformation is part of a move to better understand humans so that their races can continue to build up their relations.

She played the central ensemble role of Minbari Ambassador Delenn for all five seasons of Babylon 5, and some of the associated TV movies. Between 2004 and 2010 she played the recurring role of Danielle Rousseau on Lost .

After Sheridan and Babylon 5 broke away from Earth, it was Delenn who rescued the station with a fleet of Minbari ships, at the cost of destroying the symbolic circle of the Grey Council. The religious and worker castes sided with Babylon 5 and the Army of Light.

May 18, 2016 · In David's first draft of the script (dated 4 January 1995), Delenn used her gravity ring to force Ashann—a Minbari who claimed to have witnessed Captain John Sheridan murdering another innocent Minbari in cold blood—to admit his complicity in a conspiracy to frame Babylon 5's commanding officer.

Delenn pleads her case before the Grey Council, asking them to allow her to continue her mission at Babylon 5. Her replacement then reveals himself, and she is both shocked and angered to see that it is Neroon , a member of the Warrior Caste.
