May 23, 2020 · The Jon boat deck would be about a foot longer. Also wondering which one is likely to be more stable. The one thing I am ambivalent about is the deck on the crawdad would be right at the top edge whereas on the Jon boat it will be about 4 inches below.

May 18, 2015 · A church member has this boat. Its in pretty decent shape, has 2 swivel seats and sits on a trailer. The trailer is decent with a manual winch. I just have about 5 ponds that are small enough to bank fish but the most popular one is huge and has no bank access for the weeds and is DEEP. I want this boat for this one pond. The boat is $700 firm.

Feb 1, 2022 · Hey there Pastor, the Coleman Crawdad is a great little boat ,the Ram -X is very strong and durable that was my first boat ,I got used in 1992 , although it is a 2 seater be very careful with your weight the limits 400lbs. that includes all your gear ,battery, trolling motor , outboard ,cooler and other equipment adds up fast.

Apr 7, 2012 · There used to be two classes of Jon Boat, a regular one and the other was a heavy duty. The heavy duty is usually wider at the bottom and has a higher payload, and the payload is highly under rated. I have seen 3 big boys and a 55 gallon drum in a 16ft hd jon boat treating settling ponds with die, and no body ever got wet.

Sep 6, 2012 · After looking up the hull id, I found out that its a 1988 Coleman Crawdad XT. The capacity plate was all worn out, so using the usgc template I created a new one. The boat will have a front and rear deck and all weather carpeting.

May 9, 2020 · For trolling motor 12 volts is fine. the only way I'd do two batteries is if you went lithium due to the weight. I dont know how you'd do a bow mount with foot control in that boat without some serious mods. You could reverse the handle so you could use the hand controls in front like some saltwater boats.
