Clare College is the second oldest of Cambridge’s thirty-one colleges. It was founded in 1326 and endowed a few years later by Lady Elizabeth de Clare, a granddaughter of King Edward I (1272-1307).
About Clare College
In 1326, Clare was the first Oxford or Cambridge foundation to bring together a Master, Fellows, and Scholars in a single community. Today we are a diverse College community brought together by a common interest in learning, teaching, and research with around 100 Fellows, 300 postgraduate students, and 500 undergraduate students.

The College has facilities spread across three sites. The main site, Old Court, is located on Trinity Lane. From here, the Avenue leads you across the river and over to Memorial Court.
