May 19, 2020 · Interesting question. IME the reason most people keep chaeto over calerpa is because 1) calerpa has a tendency to go sexual and 2) because chaeto is more available from other hobbyists (probably because of point 1).

May 25, 2023 · Technically, my 'grape' caulerpa doesn't actually appear to be the literal 'sea grape' type. I got mine from Reef Cleaners, which is actually C. cupressoides, var. lycopodium. Reef Cleaners sells it as Grape Caulerpa, but it is a completely different species called Cactus Tree Caulerpa. I had forgotten about that until I read back on the RC page.

Dec 22, 2020 · Like green spots while the rest of it is clear. As macrouk said flow is a contributing factor for most Caulerpa i’ve found. They will grown shorter/more compact in higher flow. As long as the stolons of the caulerpa aren’t dying back & it is pushing out new blades I wouldn’t worry too much, personally.

Aug 28, 2017 · Caulerpa is more efficient than chaeto and will outcompete it, but was a long term nightmare until I got a foxface. Even taking down the tank and scrubbing every rock and surface did not solve it as it grew back from tiny bits in crevices.

Nov 23, 2015 · Any one know the difference between these two varieties of grape caulerpa? I see most people using racemosa but when I look at pictures my stuff looks like lentillifera. I also know that lentillifera is a common food item. I don't think that I want to eat macro out of my fuge but I have seen people on here eat tank grown macro.
