USS Oklahoma City (CL-91/CLG-5/CG-5) was one of 27 United States Navy Cleveland-class light cruisers completed during or shortly after World War II, and one of six to be converted to guided missile cruisers. She was the first US Navy ship to be named for Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Recommissioned in 1960 as CLG 5, the ship was the first combat vessel of the Pacific fleet to successfully fire a Talos missile, the U.S. Navy's original surface to air missile (SAM). To make room for a Talos missile battery, the World War II antiaircraft guns were removed and the five-inch battery of twelve guns reduced to two.

The USS Oklahoma City was the twentieth of twenty seven Cleveland class light cruisers built during World War II. Finished late in the war the ship participated in the final actions against Japan. The Okie Boat was one of six light cruisers selected for conversion to guided missile cruisers in the 1950s. These first generation missile ships provided long range anti-aircraft defense for the fleet.
