The CH-53K is the latest variant of the CH-53 Sea Stallion helicopter, which first flew in 1974 and began operating with the US Marine Corps (USMC) in 1981. The CH-53K helicopter made its first flight on October 27, 2015. In May 2018, the first CH-53K was sent to the Marine Corps.
