The stock air box is very restrictive with lots of room for improvement as stated in many prior conversations about air box mods with dyno proof of hp gains for the 500 engines. The simple rule of volumetric efficiency, get it to breath better make more power.

Sep 8, 2022 · If you feel both are too high, like stated above, the Rebel 500 has the lowest in Honda's 500cc class at just over 27.2" or about 690.88 mm. But IMHO, you'll sacrifice fuel capacity and comfort that are helpful/needed for longer trips by opting for the Rebel. The Rebels are nice motorcycles, they're just designed for a different style of riding.

Jun 9, 2024 · These are marvelously-reliable bikes and "punch far above their weight" in fuel mileage and utterly dependable mechanicals. I hate to think of some potential buyers passing them by due to the belief that the current CB-500 Honda models are somehow disposable bikes suitable only for cash-strapped beginners.

Aug 2, 2019 · Well, it is not cheap, that's for certain. However, the seat cost is about 5% the cost of a new CB-500F. It is frustrating that Honda has fitted the CB-500s with sub-standard seats; it costs no more to design and build a very good seat than a poor seat. It's all a matter of shape and foam firmness and density.
