Our Story - Blueberry River First Nations
Blueberry River First Nations (BRFN) is a signatory of Treaty 8. The treaty was first signed in 1899, and the Nation signed adhesion to Treaty 8 in 1900. Located 80 km northwest of Fort St. John in northeastern British Columbia, the Nation has both Beaver and Cree cultural groups that exist together, forming one community.

Public Works and Housing oversees all capital projects and services relating to the maintenance and repair of BRFN-owned facilities. This department is comprised of staff with experience in repairing plumbing, appliances, minor electrical issues, infrastructure, drywall, and furnaces, as well as minor carpentry projects.

BRFN Restoration staff identify, implement, and monitor culturally appropriate ecological restoration throughout the territory. Our work is guided by a community-driven restoration framework using a two-eyed seeing approach.
