Just bought a Boss GT-5 - The Gear Page
Feb 1, 2013 · The GT-5 just has the tone I've grown accustomed to and does the job. The only thing I ever ran into was that I had to have the rotary encoder knob replaced. If I run across a inexpensive GT-10 / GT-100, I'll have a look (I could use a rotary effect, graphic EQ and simple bank switching pedals), but I often wonder if I would miss the analog ...
who still have boss gt5 - The Gear Page
Jul 30, 2021 · Not GT-5 but i use a GT-Pro which is a GT-8 in rack format with some added functionality (and much higher price, made in Japan) its still my main preamp/effect unit used with a Mesa tube power amp and guitarcab. I also have two Boss VF-1 half rack units from about 2000 (Made in Japan). I never had any of the floor GT pedals though.
Boss GT-5~Why is this Unit 'frequently' mentioned?
Apr 11, 2012 · It lists a pile of other stuff, but no GT-5. Kind of funny, but he does list the old Boss VF-1 1/2 rack processor and sure enough it shows up in a pic of one of his racks. I was thinking about the chronology of some of these units, and I guess that the VF-1 came out a few years after the GT-5. The GT-5 manual is dated 1996 and the VF-1 is dated ...
Stumbled across a Boss Gt 5 - The Gear Page
Jun 24, 2017 · Someone I know has just lent me a Gt 5 to try/ buy. Not had a chance to play with it yet. Looking forward to it though.
Boss GT-5~Why is this Unit 'frequently' mentioned?
May 24, 2022 · There's a lot of "shared character" between the Boss amp models and between the boss OD/DS effects (even the analog ones in the GT-3/5 IMO). But the boogie amp sounds nice and liquidy to me without that very distinct honk.
boss GT-5 vs Zoom G7 Vs digitech GNX3 | The Gear Page
Oct 10, 2012 · i was until last week a proud owner of an old boss Gt-5 but sadly it is out of order now. So my questions are simple. i dunno if i get another one or if i get something new. In the subject you can see the choice i would make: - ZOOM G7-Digitech GNX-3 (or 4) - tonelab SE. i won't use it to record just to play at home (not professionnally)
Boss GT-5 - What MIDI controlled fx unit in loop? | The Gear Page
Sep 20, 2012 · I'm pretty happy with my Boss GT-5, however, I'd like to put a small MIDI controllable multi fx unit into the loop of the Boss. It would be cool to have some more realistic crunch and solo tone options, as well as maybe a Rotary effect and 10 band graphic eq. Oh yeah, it should be about $100 or so.
Boss GT-5~Why is this Unit 'frequently' mentioned?
Aug 21, 2018 · Yes, the setup is different on the GT-5. In that unit the loop is a separate "effect" and even has its own "send level" parameter (p 39 of GT-5 manual). On the GT-3, the loop is (oddly) one of the 12 available OD/DS models (p 43 of GT-3 manual) rather than a separate effect. It is labeled EXT OD/DS.
Boss GT-5~Why is this Unit 'frequently' mentioned?
Apr 11, 2012 · I have the speaker simulation set to "stack" and the output volume of the GT-5 pretty much maxed out. I Hang with a fairly loud drummer and the volume on the .50 Cal is between 2-3! Also, a key to good tone on the GT-5 unit is to set the input sensitivity correctly - making sure that the overload light only comes on when you hit the strings at ...
Not much discussion of the Boss GT-1000 anymore - The Gear Page
Jan 6, 2022 · I come from the Boss GT-5 which I played for over 10 years and the GT 1000 is a huge step up but I didn't use the GT-5 for the amps and that's where I think Boss can step up even further and maybe similar to FAS use two dedicated processor for the (stereo) amp models and one processor for the effects. Boss GT 2000 is coming LOL !
