Mar 18, 2022 · Fifth gear is usually what kills these motors. There's a lot of strain while the car is in fifth gear and you’re at WOT. A closed deck block alone does nothing for the head lift. The current solutions (that dont really work) are: ARP 625+, top fuel hoop from soho, CSS copper ring, Dynosty headgaskets.

Apr 28, 2016 · What's the safe HP limit for these blocks? 800whp safely attainable with proper internals? The blocks themselves have already proven to take 800+whp. Upgraded internals as you know are required once going past ~650whp. These are stout motors and with proper internals and TT kit you should be easily able to break into quadruple digits.

Mar 18, 2023 · I know the VQ37 can be a little loud with injector and valve noise, but this is a little too loud. I checked under the valve cover to look for bucket damage or cam damage there’s none. Even cranked it without the valve cover to see if the noise would be replicated but it does not make the noise unless the car is running.

Nov 24, 2023 · Only issue with it is it is a blown engine (hole in the block). My question is will a VQ37VHR bolt right up to the oem 6mt AND will the engine harness from the vq35 work (like connectors will plug right up and I don't have to make a custom harness or repin anything?)

However, as the engine gets up there in miles, I begin to worry about potential common issues, and the galley gasket seems like a big one. Does anyone know what year they fixed it?
