A man-made reservoir located in northwest Arkansas in the Ozark Mountains, Beaver Lake is the result of a dam constructed across the White River. With 487 miles of natural shoreline, the lake has natural caves, a variety of trees and plant life and limestone bluffs.

There are several recreational areas along Beaver Lake that were constructed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The Blackburn Creek Watchable Wildlife Area is one of those. Offering interpretative hiking trails, you can enjoy the day taking your time as you stroll through nature.

Built by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Big Clifty Park is leased to Carroll County. Offering hiking, tent camping and a boat launch, Big Clifty offers a glimpse of life in the Arkansas outdoors. It is located on the stream, Big Clifty, near where it flows into Beaver Lake.

The non-smoking recreational facilities allow pets. Campsites are spacious, allowing up to three tents or an RV and a single tent. Facilities include a dump station, drinking water, showers, picnic shelters and fishing sites.

Along the shorelines of Beaver Lake, Hickory Creek Park offers sunny, spacious campsites conveniently located near a variety of activities. The campground at the park has 55 standard spots equipped with electric and two group shelters with electric.

Dam Site River Campground is on the shores of White River, below Beaver Dam and Lake. An abundance of recreational activities, along with spacious, sunny campsites are available. The campground is surrounded by trees, flowering shrubs, limestone bluffs, caves and wildlife.
