Babylon 5 is an American science fiction television series created, produced and largely written by J. Michael Straczynski. The show centers on the Babylon 5 space station: a focal point for politics, diplomacy, and conflict during the years 2257–2262.

A disgraced boxer comes to Babylon 5 to compete in the Mutai, an alien fighting match. Meanwhile, an old friend visits Ivanova so that she can mourn the loss of her father.

Babylon 5 successfully completed its five-year story arc on November 25, 1998, after five seasons and 109 aired episodes, when TNT aired the 110th episode "Sleeping in Light," which had been filmed as the Season 4 finale, when Babylon 5 was under threat of ending production at that point.

In the mid 23rd century, the Earth Alliance space station Babylon 5, located in neutral territory, is a major focal point for political intrigue, racial tensions and various wars over the course of five years.

When President Clark escalates his brutal repression of the people of the Earth Alliance, Captain Sheridan declares Babylon 5 independent. After his supposedly dead wife Anna turns up very much alive on Babylon 5, Sheridan travels with her to the Shadows' homeworld Z'ha'dum. Secrets are revealed and Kosh's warning that he will die haunts Sheridan.
