The Alexander Palace (Russian: Александровский дворец, Alexandrovskiy dvorets, IPA: [ɐlʲɪkˈsandrəfskʲɪj dvɐˈrʲets]) is a former imperial residence near the town of Tsarskoye Selo in Russia, on a plateau about 30 miles (48 km) south of Saint Petersburg.

I created the Alexander Palace website in 1997 as a resource for people who wanted to learn more about the palace, the Romanovs and Russian history. In recent years amazing progress has been made in the restoration of the palace by the museum authorities in Tsarskoe Selo.
