Jul 7, 2009 · I have a '91 S10, 4.3L TBI with a timing issue. A blown head gasket led me to my current automotive adventure. I rebuilt both heads and the TBI, installed a new oil pan gasket, new timing chain and gaskets/seals (sprockets looked ok). With everything put back together, I fired it up. It started easily but didn't sound right.

They told me it came from a 4 cylinder 5 speed truck and was compatible with a 1991 S10 A code engine. They told me this while looking at their computer screen.

Sep 30, 2019 · Your 91 will have the "Good" 700r4 so it should live At stock 5.7 power levels and rear end will be fine. If you itch for more power later a custom chip can be had for about 150$ from a few tuners and a sum K1102 or 1103 kit will be a decent bump in power to about 220-230 hp at the crank for about 120$ from summit racing shipped.

It’s an LM7, Iron Block aluminum heads. Going to do a big cam, bolt ons, custom tune, maybe nitrous or forced induction.)
