Jul 21, 2009 · 90 S-10 4wd 4.3L - Bogs then Backfires Uphill OK, the saga continues. Re-checked the spark plug wires and they were on wrong. Fix them and it started right up. Had O2 sensor and spark plugs replaced today. So, to recap, the original problem was that it looses power (and vibrates a lot) and backfires when going up a long hill.

Dec 15, 2024 · If your '90 came with a 4.3l 5 speed, it is not an NV3500. It is either a HM290 or 5LM60, which look similar on the outside but are not even close on the inside. Biggest visible difference being the complex 4 shift rail mechanism. These transmissions are stronger than the NV3500 but expensive and hard to rebuild...

Jan 31, 2011 · Moroso is building S10 specific springs right now. I gave them an 1850# nose weight and they sent me 250# Gbody springs. I didnt want to wait, and there are a shit-ton of s10 drag guys running "stepchild" trick springs from moroso ranging from Chevelles to Regals. Everything depends on your combo, intended use/goals, and obviously weight.

Jun 29, 2019 · I used a booster from a 1999 Malibu or cavalier (2.2 cavalier, or 2.4 Malibu). S10 master cyl bolts right up to this booster and the 4 studs fit in the firewall with no modifications. You will have to cut and re-weld the s10 rod end to the Malibu booster, but it was bolt in for the most part. Clears the coils and vette covers perfectly
