Apr 22, 2019 · I've never heard a 6F6 tube in an amp, but am about to acquire a SE amp which was designed to accept many types of 6V outputs. And the 6F6 family is highly recommended by the manufacturer. Shopping around, it looks like there were at least 4 main variants: 6F6, 6F6G, 6F6GT, and 6F6MG (metal).

May 19, 2009 · Yes, the loadline is for SE, but since I'm staying mostly in class A, it should be equivalent with half the primary impedance. The anode-to-anode impedance of the OPT is 7.6K to one single 8 ohm winding.

Sep 18, 2007 · The 6F6 output tube has an old Champ transformer connected to the plate. It has a 390 ohms in parallel with a 25µF cap connected to the cathode. I believe it has unity gain.

Aug 30, 2013 · Yes, if your SSE was built for the smaller dissipation tubes. Probably not, if you built it for the larger power tubes. A search in this sub forum will provide you some information. I have 6F6GT's in a low power SSE right now.

Jul 17, 2013 · 6G6 is a VERY low-power tube - originally made for battery-powered farm radios. 6W6 and 6Y6 have high heater current, high transcondutance, work well at lower voltages (they were often used in voltage regulators due to low voltage drop).

Sep 10, 2008 · He needs a SE transfomer like the Hammond HX-125CSE $38.80. The SE transformers have an air gap in the core to prevent saturation due to the primary current. The 6f6 will put out 7 watts with a plate voltage and current of 315 V and about 40 mA. the 125CSE transformer will handle 8 watts and 60 mA.
