May 8, 2013 · I also attempted to use the 6AF11, but in a single-ended amp. It appeared to be impossible to achieve worthwhile gain without instability. The most effective result was obtained by grounding all elements of the 'middle' triode section - effectively using it as a shield between the other triode and the pentode.
