Oct 6, 2022 · I purchased an assembled 6AU6 6AQ5 SE Amp from China. It worked as assembled but was not correct. The PCB was not correct. I had to cut traces, add correct capacitors/resistors for the voltages and rewire correctly the power supply CRC filters. I have questions about the feedback connections circled in red in the attached picture.

Jun 8, 2019 · I've seen schematics for 6AQ5 SE amps, which have a single preamp tube, usually a 12AX7. But if you take a look at the attached pics, you'll see there is a 12AX7 and a 6UA6 in the preamp stage of the Ampro design, which also has a volume pot and a tone pot.

May 25, 2019 · Attached is the schematic for the modified "hybrid" 6AQ5 amp. Via front panel switches I can dial in the FET stage to get some smooth early crunch, or I can switch it out to make the amp valve only for a clean sound.

Mar 11, 2022 · Don't have a specific suggestion but a 6AQ5 is basically the same as a 6V6, so if you find a schematic for that which tickles your fancy the 6aq5 will drop right in with the proper socket.

Jun 3, 2016 · The 6AU6 is still common and cheap, same with the 6AQ5. I'm thinking maybe the input pentode 6AU6 can kick the guitar signal up enough, that a lower gain triode like the 6DJ8 can run the Tone Stack final gain stage.
