Oct 13, 2018 · Re: 5-Point Star I just searched Pinterest. Google (or search Pinterest) Betsy Ross one piece 5-point Star, she shows how to fold a piece of paper to make a 5 pointed star. I would think this would work with bigger paper, hers was about 8 inches. You might need to use newspaper opened all the way out so its big enough.

I have templates for three different size stars now. lol Added the sides from a tutorial Jenny had not long ago to make it wider. Machine quilted on my home machine.

Or how about a uniform shirt quilt? I have seen where quilters have taken military uniforms and made a quilt so why not sheriffs uniforms. Also saw what a 7 point star looked like.

Nov 20, 2021 · One possible solution would be to make a large square or rectangle out of your desired background fabric that is the finished size of the king size quilt (as if you are making a quilt backing). You could then center the 7 point star on the background and appliqué it in place. No complicated math involved.

May 27, 2014 · When I was making a quilt that had 16.5" blocks, I invested in a Creative Grids 16.5" sq. ruler. I use it all the time for cutting fabric, along side my 6.5 x 24" long ruler. Beginning quilters can get by with only the 6x24 and the 12.5" square ruler to a while, but various projects necessitate other rulers & tools.
