4.3L V6 interchangeability - S-10 Forum
Jul 18, 2012 · The 4.3L V6 engine was introduced in the S10, S15, & S10 Blazer in 1988. The 4.3L V6 block and heads from 1988 to 1995 are fully interchangeable. In other words, a 4.3 L Engine from 1995 will bolt in perfectly into blazers of earlier years that also were equipt with a 4.3 L engine. From what I...

May 8, 2018 · No, the 3.8L is a 90 degree V6. The early ones were based on the Buick 305cid V8's, with two cylinders missing. The 4th gen F bodies got the Gen-II 3.8L V6, RPO code L36. Basically the 3.8L V6 is to a 305cid V8, as the 4.3L V6 is to a 350cid V8.

4.3L turbo build - S-10 Forum
Sep 29, 2020 · Your best $5k-$10k 4.3L v6 turbo application will probably not outperform a $2000 2003 Silverado 1500 with a stock 5.3L. And a nice Silverado 2500 with a 6.2 for $4000 (or so) will absolutely crush a turbo'd S10.
4.3 bellhousing - S-10 Forum
Aug 2, 2005 · The 4.3 V6 and the small block Chevy in all its many different sizes have the same engine to bell housing bolt pattern. I have spread some half truth in previous posts by saying that the only 4.3/small block to T5 bells were on the mid-1980s Astro vans with T5s. Saying those were the only 4.3 V6 to T5s bells issued by the factory is the true half.

T-5 Behind 4.3L? - S-10 Forum
Apr 20, 2004 · The 1985 or so Chevy Astro vans used the small input (1" diam. x 14 spline) T5 trannie behind the 4.3L 90 degree V6 engine. That is the same size input shaft as the T5 behind the small V6 and I4 engines. The Astro 4.3 V6 used a 11" clutch disc in the 1 x 14 spline input.
Balancing, internal or external and should it be done
Aug 2, 2005 · For the other guy, the balance shaft is not for balancing the the rotating assembly. It's just to cut down on the vibrations inherent to a 90degree V6, balancing the rotating assembly is different, they spin the crank on a machine, weigh all the pistons, and add/subtract weight so the whole rotating assembly is nice and balanced.
