
A very rare Lima pillar dollar, 1771, with the "HIAPSN" error
Apr 12, 2023 · The individual responsible for punching the shield die side legend for this coin must have a bad night, creating "HIAPSN" instead, resulting in a very rare variety of what is normally a somewhat scarce date. I was lucky to be able to acquire this coin, even in its salvaged state.

Feb 16, 2008 · Overall the coin really looks good to me and the weight is correct. Look very closely at the die surfaces to see if they were properly finished. Real dies will not produce a dimpled surface (normally) and there should not be too many raised lines on the surface.
