Netflix's 2024 indian murder mystery Murder Mubarak seems very much inspired by the TV show White Lotus. As much as they emulated de Veer's soundtrack for it. So much so that my ears were tuned into the score for the whole film. I was surprised to hear virtually unaltered snippets of his Utopia soundtrack 27 mins into the movie when it cuts to a flashback of the party from the opening sequence ...

So here's the tip: don't watch the US version until you've seen (I don't know where it is available but it was on Channel 4 in the UK I think about four years ago) as the US version gives away all the secrets of two seasons in the beginning exposition. Utopia UK is brilliant. Do yourself a favour and don't ruin a great show with its shitty remake.

Drik Gently Fargo The Expanse Hannibal National Treasure The Man in the High Castle is pretty good for the first two seasons. Kinda lost after that to find a "replacement". Ideas?

Sep 27, 2020 · The first scene of the UK version is better than the first 2 episodes of the US remake. In under 3 minutes the original introduces the characters of Lee and Arby ax casual psychopaths, teases us about the Utopia manuscript and brings up the mysterious Jessica Hyde.
