In summary, I'd say that the R75 is a great receiver fully capable of pulling in the weakest and dealing with the overly strong signals quite easily and although it's been around for a while now, it can still handle most of what avid shortwave listeners and/or ham radio and utility listeners like me, actually want.

Aug 2, 2019 · First of the bandwidth settings are much better than the Alinco. The only other bandwidth setting on the Alinco is just not wide enough. The Kiwa sync detector and filters WORKS! Also there are two preamplifier settings, a notch filter, noise blanker, attenuator, noise reduction and TBT settings.

Jul 27, 2013 · The R75 has a host a features & settings to make that weak signal readable -- when it's buried in noise on any other radio. People laud the Drake R8 for it's ability to "dig out" the weakest signals from noise, but, having owned both, the R75 is far superior for that.
