Swapping the sidekick for the Bandit or Bandit Evo would be a massive improvement. Or, the sidekick could be tweaked so it's less effective at close-range spamming but still effective as a finisher, which is what 343 seemed to intend it to be.

Personally for me the Sidekick fuckin doinks, it is a reliable and very consistent gun, my only gripe with it is I wish it looked more like the typical Magnum. But other than that I adore the Sidekick, I’ve even top scored in matches where I only use the Sidekick. Overall fantastic gun, just wish it looked a little cooler.

Nov 3, 2022 · I think this change also allows for the Sidekick to fill a different role than the classic Halo Magnum, so if they ever wanted to add it back, the 2 guns would not feel the same. Ideally, the Sidekick would be the normal feeling pistol, while the Magnum is the powerful hand cannon that it was in previous games (notably Halo 5 and Halo CE).

May 12, 2023 · After a little more than a year since the release of halo infinite, the sidekick is one of the most frustrating weapons to get killed by. For the record I actually enjoyed the gunfighter magnum from halo 5, with the limited time I was able to use it in multiplayer. It feels like 50% skill and 50% blind luck that bloom put your shots on target.

Jul 30, 2022 · The Sidekick is a strange weapon to me because it's one of the easiest weapons to use in the game while being one of the sweatiest. Essentially, you just run up on people and hope that bull shit bloom doesn't fuck you. But really, the sidekick just makes the game not fun.

Dec 12, 2022 · The least ttk for the weapons in infinite is the arcane sentinel beam at 0.54 seconds. Maybe they are talking about the striker sidekick which is stronger and has 0 bloom even if you spam. But that's only in campaign and super fiesta. I'd love to see clips of them killing someone in 0.5 seconds. Especially in a match.
