Crime Stoppers USA is the national Crime Stoppers organization that spans the United States to create a network of local programs that work together to prevent and solve crimes in communities and schools across the nation.

How do I report a crime? Your local Crime Stoppers program will forward information you have concerning unsolved felony crimes and fugitives wanted for felony charges to the appropriate law enforcement agency.

Local Crime Stoppers programs are non-profit organizations led by citizens against crime. Some Crime Stoppers programs offer cash rewards of up to $1000 to persons providing anonymous information that leads to the felony arrest of criminals and fugitives.

Since anonymity is the foundation of Crime Stoppers, programs must provide an anonymous means for their residents to report information about crime. Rewards given for tips that lead to an arrest or a successful conclusion of a case must be less than $10,000, as required by Federal Banking Regulations, in order to protect the identity of the ...

Crime Stoppers was the brainchild of a young Albuquerque detective who was concerned by the number of unsolved cases he and fellow detectives were working, and was particularly frustrated that all possible leads had been exhausted regarding the murder of a young college student.
