Jan 9, 2009 · I was watching the episode 'Brothers' last night from season 4. Data is called home to his father, (originally presumed dead). Data takes control of the ship, deactivating the life support on the bridge to force everyone out, he then over rides all ship systems to only answer to picard on the bridge (whom data has been impersonating).

Nov 4, 2024 · I find the Data/Spock comparison to be quite lazy. They differ significantly. Spock has emotions and wants to purge himself of them. Data has no emotions and really wants to experience them. Spock has a wry, sardonic sense of humour and can be very cutting. Data is very naive and often doesn’t even understand simple humour.

One of my favorite moments in all of Trek is when she teaches him how to dance (could someone please remind me of the episode?) - what a hilarious, well-conceived scene. Olivaw possesses many traits similar to Data (as this character and body of work inspired much of the writing for Data).

Aug 15, 2007 · Data was originally supposed to be in a Blue Science Uniform, but they thought it clashed too much with his makeup so they put him in Gold and made up the "Operations" post as an explanation. Same reason the Command colors are now red, it's because Patrick Stewart and Jonathan Frakes didn't look that good in Gold so they chnaged the color to red.
