Mar 22, 2019 · Never tried Valspar Cabinet paint. The Valspar paint I've used for other applications have worked fine. Cabinet work is kind of a specialty though, and as mentioned you need a good leveling paint. If the paint levels really well, then it almost doesn't matter how you apply it. So I suspect the Valspar paint isn't great for this.

Otherwise, alkyds are the best choice, as they do not block. If there is latex paint already applied, a waterborne clear varnish may help eliminate the blocking condition.

If you want a great-looking 2 coat paint job that will last for years and provides you with a washable/scrubbable/durable finish, well, MOST mfr. have that type of paint also.

Oct 20, 2021 · IDK anything about aristoshield, but I can tell you that Advance is a very difficult paint to apply, so I dont recommend that, especially for a DIYer' From Benjamin Moore: Scuff X, or Cabinet coat are FAR easier products to apply. The problem is, HVLP will spray BIN great, but waterborne products, not so much.
