Jun 1, 2014 · Shock/Fetch Lands. Economics forum Posted on June 1, 2014, 2:08 p.m. by Kodiax. One thing I keep getting surprised about is why Shock lands and Fetch lands are so expensive. Things like Godless Shrine and Overgrown Tomb allow you to get land quickly if necessary, but they deal damage to you.

Aug 28, 2014 · Shock lands have a replacement effect that modifies how they enter the battlefield. This effect applies no matter how the lands enter the battlefield. Fetch lands only instruct you to put the land onto the battlefield. They do not force the land to enter the battlefield tapped, so they don't create any replacement effects of their own.

Jun 28, 2020 · Shock lands. Overgrown Tomb and friends. Used in conjunction with fetchlands to guarantee color access. The 2 life to shock hurts, especially when fetched to make it 3. You can always crack fetches to grab shocks at the end of turn before yours, to have the shock enter tapped to save the 2 life.
