May 13, 2023 · Dredd is a genre classic but commercially it was a flat out bomb - of course it was going to be an uphill struggle getting sequels made off the back of it. I hope to be able to see it in 3D someday, there are several scenes where it’s obvious 3D stuff is going on, which probably looks pretty cool in the format.

The 2012 film is a pretty close adaption I'd say - almost zero plot, almost zero subtlety, and just cool demonstrations of how badass Judge Dredd is. The little bit of emotion he shows at the end (complimenting Anderson or whatever) is great and it makes the movie much better, but original Dredd would no doubt have failed her.

2012’s Dredd with Karl Urban is a great movie and one can argue it’s one of the best action movies of the 2010s. Unfortunately, despite a warm reception, Dredd did not do well at the box office and talks of a sequel have stalled.

Apr 23, 2022 · The 2012 movie's only real crime, even more then having Dredd doling out executions in lieu of taking non-resisting perps to the cubes as you can see police officers executing people being something people are worried about the cops today in our day and age, is that they didn't go far enough into criticism or satire for the Judge system.

Oct 2, 2022 · Hi team, I randomly put Dredd (2012) on yesterday and my wife was enthralled by it. She’s an avid media consumer but wanted to watch more films “like” Dredd, ie maybe some underground hits etc.

Dredd (2012) is a perfect depiction of cyberpunk done well. I hope there is a level that gives a nod to this awesome flick.
