Nov 8, 2023 · While I was able to fix my dependency issues with pacman-static, be aware that you should (HAVE TO) run mkinitcpio from your "real" system afterwards. Just fixing the issues with pacman-static caused a kernel panic directly after the boot loader for me, I assume it is related to having a luks encrypted disk.

Dec 24, 2008 · It might work if you temporary create those symlinks mentioned above and run "pacman -S libarchive libfetch pacman", remove the symlinks again and run pacman -Syu. If those symlinks wont work you could manually download the libarchive and libfetch package and extract them to / using tar (remove the .PKG* and .INSTALL files in / afterwards).

Feb 26, 2025 · (This is actually a MS PacMan) I have known good RAM 4K-4R (which have been resocketed) I have eliminated the ROMs at 6E-6J and replaced with SMT Electronics ROM PCB card. I have even replaced the character ROMs at 5E & 56 I have check all of my work on resocketing my RAM. It just boots to a black screen with: BAD R M 0 BAD R M 0 BAD R M 0

Aug 31, 2018 · An alternative might to be have multiple repos and tell pacman to install packages from one of them. Hypothetical example : pacman.conf has entries for stable, test1 , test2 and test3 stable repo is listed first, so pacman will use the packages in that by default . foobar, barfoo and bigmess are present in all 4 repos in different versions

Aug 24, 2012 · Personally I wouldn't replace it, I've rarely seen a pacman that actually needed a new power supply. The voltages are supplied by a transformer that hardly ever goes bad. You may have fuse or fuse holder issues going on, or edge connector issues but your actual power supply likely isn't the problem.

Check out the arch RSS Feeds. I use RSS Guard (pkg: rssguard) to read feeds. Notice there is a feed per repo or all repos. There is also a news feed.
