A blue cloud icon next to your OneDrive files or folders indicates that the file is only available online. Online-only files don’t take up space on your computer. OneDrive icon with sync: OneDrive will also check for other file or folder changes and may show "Processing changes".

The files you are describing are so-called owner files (sometimes referred to as "lock" files). An owner file is created when you work with a document in Word, and it should be deleted when you save your document and exit Word. Sometimes these files are left behind, for example if Word crashes, and you can delete them manually.

Apr 29, 2019 · When I go back in to the folder the "Status column appears again. I've tried rebooted after the change, but the column is still there. There is no indication as to what status it's even providing. Is it stating that the folder/file is available, that's it's shared … what? What does a green check mark in the 'Status" column indicate.

The Archive flag is used by backup software to identify files that have changed since the last backup to allow you to do "incremental" backups.
