MK 16 SCAR-L. The MK 16 Mod 0 SCAR-L is a relatively new 5.56mm x 45mm carbine / assault rifle that has been selected by SOCOM to replace a number of existing weapons such as the M4A1 and the CQBR. The MK 16 can be configured with a 14 inch barrel (standard), with a 10 inch barrel (CQC) or with a 18 inch barrel (LB).

The SCAR-L fires the 5.56x45mm NATO round from a 30 round STANAG compatible detachable magazine. It is a select fire rifle with a rather low cyclic rate of fire of 625 rpm. Effective range, depending on barrel length, ranges from 300 m to over 400 m.

The SCAR-L is a Belgian assault rifle featured in Blackhawk Rescue Mission 5. It fires the 5.56x45mm NATO cartridge and can be purchased for 4499. The SCAR-L was originally intended to replace the M4A1 and Mk 18 within USSOCOM.
