Rob Liefeld is a successful, but controversial artist. A penciler and writer who rose to record-breaking success in the 1990's with titles such as The New Mutants, X-Force, and Youngblood.

Aug 20, 2014 · Rob Liefeld is the poster child for 90s comic art, which has been much derided ever since. People also hated what him and Jim Lee did with Heroes Reborn. He's also been accused of being a swipe artist by people such as Peter David.

Rob's personality led to a lot of controversy and some bad business dealings. The fans started turning on him. A lot of young fans started to sour on his art. He became a meme. Whether you like Liefeld's art or not, I think his art is unjustly picked on because there was plenty of worse stuff going around in the 90s.

Rob's style was much more about "cool" images. It was just something different that readers weren't seeing that much at that time and it grabbed attention. The downfall for Rob is that many better artists started applying that type of page mentality to their work and did it better. Rob's work today is better than it was back then.

Nov 28, 2017 · The Liefeld drawing is bad but the blogger makes an excellent point. My problem with Liefeld has always been that he doesn’t seem to improve. When I was a kid, people made fun of his characters feet, hands and 2 facial expressions. 20 years later and he still can’t draw feet, hands or more than 2 facial expressions.

If Rob and Fabian didn't create Deadpool then Joe Kelly wouldn't have been able to add his mark to him because he wouldn't exist.

Rob Liefeld was different. From your perspective he sucks and that’s the end of the matter. Back then he was a breath of fresh air.
