Anthony Joseph Foyt Jr. (born January 16, 1935) is an American former racing driver who competed in numerous disciplines of motorsport. He is best known for his open wheel racing career, and for becoming the first four-time winner of the Indianapolis 500. He holds the most American National Championship titles in history, winning seven.

The milestone birthday is remarkable for several reasons: his record-setting achievements in one of motorsports most dangerous eras, his comeback from death-defying accidents both on track and off, and his incredible resilience with several health issues.

Foyt was the first driver to post four Indy 500 wins (1961, '64, '67, '77), and has seven national Indy car titles to his credit. He is also the all-time Indy car victory leader, with 67, and second in career pole positions, with 53.

Four times a winner of the Indianapolis 500, he is the only driver to win the 500, the Daytona 500 (1972), the 24 Hours of Daytona and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. He also won the IROC title in 1976 and 1977 and he has been inducted in a number of Halls of Fame, too numerous to mention here.
