I'd bet that Tom at this stage would rather have HK/HK USA deal with the engineering, and be a vendor or aftermarket supporter of the OEM G36 and MP7 clones than try and do everything basically on his own.

Feb 2, 2008 · Reliability wise, the G36 should outperform the Hk416 because the G36 proprietary magazine is more reliable than STANAG mags like the SA80A2 steel magazine. The XM8, which is basically a modified G36 outperformed the Hk416 in the US army dust tests. I like the HK416s ergonomics better than the G36 ergonomics. I like the XM8 ergonomics the best.

Gun is built primarily with German parts except for the barrel, gas block, flash hider, piston, and op rod. Condition of the gun is very good, with a few exception to the top rail have some small tiny use marks from previously being on an actual used G36.

Jul 1, 2014 · Nonetheless the G36 reputation is damaged beyond repair. Like the viet era M16s jam follows around even the latest m4 models around this G36 melts and is innaccurate will haunt it forever. I think HK should make it for the civ(243/293) and bundeswher, and look at something to replace both it and 416 as its new modular rifle.

Feb 2, 2008 · I CAN get the H&K416 (and the G36) if i want to (but i don't think i can get my hands on a SCAR.) This is because DK military uses H&K weapons still (MP5 & USP) and due to that im in the military (SF. unit) i can actualy get H&K weapons directly from H&K trugh the material comand (this is a privilege we have that "normal" army units don't have)
