Fldigi, Fast Light Digital Modem Application, pronounced "F L digi", is a cross-platform modem program that supports most of the peer-to-peer (live keyboard) digital modes used on the amateur radio bands.

Fldigi is a computer program intended for Amateur Radio Digital Modes operation using a PC (Personal Computer). Fldigi operates (as does most similar software) in conjunction with a conventional HF SSB radio transceiver, and uses the PC sound card as the main means of input from the radio, and output to the radio. These are audio-frequency signals.

Fldigi (__F__ast __L__ight __Digi__tal Modem Application) is a program for transmitting and receiving signals via a radio transceiver. It includes support for most digital modes used on the amateur radio bands, as well as many related functions (logging, transceiver control, sound card calibration and frequency analysis).

Flrig is written as a companion to fldigi and adds much greater rig control than is possible with just fldigi. It is especially good with the FT991A. I basically only touch the radio to turn it on or off when running digital modes, and even that can be automated.

In Fldigi go to Configure -> Config Dialog -> and navigate to flrig. Click on the checkbox for "Enable flrig xcvr control with fldigi as client". If all is working, Flrig will begin communicating with Fldigi.
